Introduction to SNF webcams

In our lab we have a number of webcams for viewing live video images. Using these, Remote Users of SNF can remotely view their samples on a scanning electron microscope or optical microscope, view a run sheet or other hard copy, or see anything else in the SNF facility live over the web. On-site SNF users can also utilize these capabilities, webcasting images to their advisors or others outside the cleanroom.

Cameras 1 and 2 are mobile cameras. Camera 1 can be used to view any equipment displays. Camera 2 can be used to view hardcopy or used like an online whiteboard, enabling sketches to be transmitted in real time. Camera 3 is a permanently stationed camera used to transmit live images from an optical microscope. Camera 4 is a permanently stationed camera used to transmit live images from a scanning electron microscope. Camera 9 is our new mobile Sony network Camera for high-speed, high-resolution live videos.

Most of our cameras must be activated by appointment (contact Mike Deal), but you can see captured still images when not in actual use.
