the laser did not turn on when I came to use the AFM today 
(~10pm). the stage/ spm do not respond to commands from teh software, eg unload.

PS: It was working when I left the machine on friday afternoon.
I turned everything off, though I forgot to disable it.

interlock box was turned off. ready for use
