Message-ID: sometimes during operation, the SUM would drop to zero, because the laser would shut off for no reason. It came back on again when I jiggled the black cables on the top of the SPM. There must be loose laser power connection within the SPM? Message-ID: Found about 10 twists in the wiring to the cantilever. I got untwisted the cables. There is a loose contact in the laser cable to the cantilever which turns off the laser. Make sure the cables are not binding to get the laser to turn on.
