In the "scan" mode scans look very grainy. Tried different tips but the same problem. Samples were not new and was able tomeasure these surfaces with no problem. Message-ID: The scanner head is only moving in one direction (either x or y depending on which orientation you choose). This would explain the problem of the previous user with roughness -- it was a 1D scan! If you get the cable in the correct location the system can work, but it's risky since it may drop out on you during your analysis. For example, if you give X offset of +10 um, it moves +10um in the Y direction. Also, if you change the angle to 90deg, it still moves in Y-dir only.
