From mihirt at stanford.edu Sun Nov 4 20:39:58 2007 From: mihirt at stanford.edu (Mihir Tendulkar) Date: Sun, 04 Nov 2007 20:39:58 -0800 Subject: Cascade vacuum problem (please read) Message-ID: <20071104203958.zkhsbg3f34g0ks8c@webmail.stanford.edu> All, Last week it was discovered that the Cascade has a vacuum problem for the 13mm piece setting (vacuum holes in the center of the chuck). The switch is broken and has been taped to maintain vacuum. DO NOT FLIP THE 13mm SWITCH OR REMOVE THE TAPE. The central holes have continuous vacuum due to the broken switch. I've placed a dummy wafer over the holes to stop the leak when the system is not in use. If you use the system, please put the dummy piece in the 3" holder next to the system (labeled SW10). When you are done measuring, please replace the dummy sample. I will contact the Cascade technician tomorrow. I don't know how long it will take to fix, so let's work together to keep it running in the meantime. Thanks. -- Mihir Tendulkar Applied Physics PhD Candidate Nishi Group, Stanford University From mihirt at stanford.edu Wed Nov 7 18:51:22 2007 From: mihirt at stanford.edu (Mihir Tendulkar) Date: Wed, 07 Nov 2007 18:51:22 -0800 Subject: [Cascade] Vacuum fixed, sort of Message-ID: <20071107185122.jtq2pnlgf4cw48gs@webmail.stanford.edu> All, Thanks to Jim McVittie's help, I narrowed the problem down to a bad seal. Problem is, I couldn't fix it myself, so I swapped out the problem switch for one of the AUX vacuum switches. The 13mm vacuum switch works properly again. DO NOT USE the AUX vacuum switches. I will contact Cascade to order a new one as soon as I can figure out who is going to pay for it. =) -- Mihir Tendulkar Applied Physics PhD Candidate Nishi Group, Stanford University From jennyhu at stanford.edu Tue Nov 13 09:09:26 2007 From: jennyhu at stanford.edu (Jenny Hu) Date: Tue, 13 Nov 2007 09:09:26 -0800 Subject: Today 5:30 - 9 PM Reservation Cancelled Message-ID: <20071113090926.izvokmd3s4w4skok@webmail.stanford.edu> From kimsangb at stanford.edu Tue Nov 13 09:44:17 2007 From: kimsangb at stanford.edu (SangBum Kim) Date: Tue, 13 Nov 2007 09:44:17 -0800 Subject: cascade free until 1PM Message-ID: <001701c8261c$d0493ea0$a9b50c80@sangbumhome> Got a later reservation today.
