Thanks to Jim McVittie, we replaced the lamp socket. We have a couple of spare sockets and bulbs on hand to prevent this much downtime in the future. The CHUCK is still bad, however. I have been arguing with Cascade to send a tech to repair the job that (in my opinion) they botched the first time. They have arranged to send someone. This means that I may have to bump someone with relatively short notice depending on when the tech can make it. Some notes: After many e-mails / phone calls with Cascade, the company finally agreed to fix the rollout for free. It seems to be restored to the original condition. It seems that the *tip* is bent slightly downward (so it is more vertical) and it touches the sample differently. Just exercise care in using probe tip 6.
