We have also changed some usage procedures. I'm attaching the revised loading procedures. I will also print out a copy to place in the binder. A few things have been changed: ** Probe tip inspection ** You are *required* to move the probe tips to the center and inspect ALL of them before and after use. The microscope should be left focused on the tips after your session. Please take the 30 seconds to do this. This is the biggest source of warnings. You must also fill out the logbook. ** Purge procedures for the chiller ** If the system has not been used recently, you should purge the chamber for 30 minutes with N2 before turning on the chiller, then operate as before. If the system has been used (and purged) recently, only a 10 minute purge is necessary. This helps prevent condensation that caused some of the CV noise issues that plagued the system for many months. ** The flow rate doesn't go up to 2 ** After we changed from Clean Dry Air to N2 gas, the flow rate dropped, and this resulted in some questions, so I fixed that. =) So, the chiller is back up for use.
