Hi guys --

So...  what does it take to get a printer driver for the new laser
printer?  I was going to download it off the HP website but was told
that this wouldn't work...  Do you have a "how-to"?

Hello,

Can you tell me if the Sun computers at snf have a keystroke sniffer
program running?  I ask this because as I sit here bored waiting for my
process to complete, I was going to order something online.  However, I
don't want my credit card number to be potentially compromised.  I know
some of the PC's in the e-beam room have keystroke sniffer programs
running, and I understand the reasoning behind this.  I don't have a
problem with it.  I just want to make sure that my credit card information
remains secure.

Hi guys --

I know you've been out, but just felt a need to pester you...  Could I
borrow the Win2K installation disk?  (Or can we download a registered
version from somewhere?)  Sorry, after more than a year of putting it
off, I don't think I can, any longer (I'm continually running out of
disk space -- and the logistics of installing a new drive on my
particular machine are horribly convoluted, but much easier if I get rid
of NT....)

Help?

Jeannie,

We use ITSS's Backup and Recovery Service (BaRS) for our staff desktop PCs
They have a great web page with detailed instructions on restoring files.
Take a look at http://www.stanford.edu/group/itss-crc/backup-service/check.html
and click on the "Restoring a file ..." link.
