Message-ID: <00ab01c4f295$89c7ad30$0500a8c0@laptop> Hi, With the new lab fee structure, those of us who often forget to disable machines will bear the bitter fruit of it. Staff members will probably be bombarded with requests for machine time rollback. One way to alleviate the situation is to install a feature on the Coral so that when a user enables the machine, he predetermines how long the machine will stay enabled. When the time enpires, the machine automatically disables. However, this feature will be usable only on machines which can tolerate sudden machine disabling. For example, EV Align will not be able to use this feature. On the other hand, for wet benches or photoresist tracks, it is OK. Just my two cents. Regards. Ben Jian, PhD Arrayed Fiberoptics Corp. I think a timer function, whereby you could see how long you've had something enabled, could be useful, but probably not a high priority for the Coral group (though this would be for the management to decide.) I personally think that it could be a serious problem to have something automatically disable after a period of time -- this is because most equipment needs to be in a "safe" condition before a system is disabled. The person who is using the equipment would be in the best position to know that the equipment is safe before disabling. As for the indicator button, you are right, this would be quite handy. But for now, we are asking people to check on the Coral Report Engine for equipment use logs -- these are not real-time, but do provide a way to check. Thanks, Mary ben.jian wrote: >Mary, > >Is it possible to have a timer function when enabling machines?
