From shott at stanford.edu Wed Feb 25 09:06:19 2009 From: shott at stanford.edu (John Shott) Date: Wed, 25 Feb 2009 09:06:19 -0800 Subject: Critical point dryer status .... Message-ID: <49A57A8B.2000604@stanford.edu> Tousimis CPD community: As you know, the critical point dryer has been down since Monday evening because of the CO2 cylinder at the change point. Unfortunately, we did not have an appropriate spare cylinder on hand .... which is our screw up. I apologize for that. We expect that 3 cylinders will be delivered tomorrow and should have the tool back in service shortly after delivery. We a also reviewing our ordering procedures and on-hand stock to do a better job in the future. While we do have two full CO2 cylinders on hand, neither of them is suitable for this use because neither of them are equipped with an eductor tube (AKA a dip tube) that is used for liquid, rather than gaseous, withdrawal from the cylinder. I apologize for this downtime and assure you that we will make every effort to avoid a similar shortage in the future. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns, John
