However I have discontinued use of current 2-lug to 3-lug triax adaptors since they proved to damage the adaptors. New 2-lug triax cables have been ordered from Trompeter and are scheduled to be shipped on 3-16. Once the cables are received system will be open to users, Thanks, Arash ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -- Arash Hazeghi PhD Candidate Stanford Center for Integrated Systems, 420 Via Palou Mall, CIS-X 300 tel: 650-725-0418 mobile: 650-353-1866 http://www.stanford.edu/group/nanoelectronics/index.htm -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... We have replaced all the triax feed-throughs and vacuum has recovered. Please note that new yellow cables are now used exclusively for the cryostat and the use of 2-lug to 3-lug adaptors has been discontinued, until clamps are installed for new cables please take extra care not to pull or trip over the cables as this will cause bending/stress on the new feed-throughs. System status is green on Coral and normal reservation policy in effect. Many students depend on this and it is important that we work as a team. Users: please take good care of the system. It is a delicate vacuum equipment similar to many of the fabrication equipment at the SNF. When the equipment goes down, everyone suffers. I have added a new log sheet for tips, all users are now required to inspect the probe tips before and after doing measurements and record the status in the log sheet. we have been providing tips so far but from now on users who bend the tips will be charged $100 per tip. Please don't forget to check all four tips before and after doing measurements and if you find a tip bent report it, failure to log tip condition will result in restricted privileges. Also please note that only the yellow cables which have been attached to the system can be used with the cryostat, no other cable of any kind should be attached to the triax feed-throughs. As of today, system is doing great with vacuum oil replaced today pump down is very fast... I hope you will enjoy your measurements.
