All,

Today I have approved our issuing a service contract PO to AMAT to
support the maintenance of the Epi tool within SNF.  The cost is
substantial, but I believe it will increase tool up time on a tool which
is very important to research at Stanford, to the relevance of SNF and
to our revenue stream that supports operations.  It will go into effect
July 1.

We will be monitoring our up time to insure that it does improve.
Please let me know of both good things and bad things that happen going
forward so we can insure we are both meeting your needs and also getting
value for your money with AMAT in this contract.
