Message-ID: <449E1D4B.9070707@stanford.edu> Hello evalign users -- At the request of a concerned labmember, I'm writing to remind everyone to be careful with the micrometers. I understand that the theta rotation micrometer was recently damaged and the X and Y micrometers aren't as smooth as they should be. And reports are that this is a recent (within a couple of weeks) development. If you are a new or returning user to this system, take extra care to do the following: 1. Make sure to load your samples and masks with the micrometers centered, so you don't have to push them to their limits. 2. Do not turn the micrometers beyong their limits. Certainly, if the knobs are getting tight, DON'T PUSH THEM FURTHER! Just unload your samples, recenter the micrometers, are reload. It is difficult to replace the micrometers. Moreover, good alignment becomes more difficult for everyone, as they start to wear. Please be kind to the machine. Thanks.
