The headway speed control is very, very flakey and erratic. Sometimes the chuck starts spinning before you push the pedal (watch out!) and even with the speed knob turned all the way to zero, it might spin at 2000 RPM! Then as you try to increase it up to say 5000 RPM by turning the knob, there is a large "flat spot" where the speed does not respond, then all of a sudden it jumps to 6000 RPM. At first it felt like a noisy pot, but given that it starts spinning even when the pedal is not "engaged" makes me think there is some other problem.
