I'm part of the ME342 class that Beth Pruitt is teaching this summer. I was wondering if anybody is depositing Si this week? Our thickness target is not critical, we just need to put Si on our glass wafers so we can bond it with another glass wafer. If we could piggyback on your deposition, we would greatly appreciate it. Also, if anyone cancels, could you please let me know? We really need to get the deposition done as soon as possible. You can contact me through the number below. Thanks! The crystal monitor said I had deposited 40nm, but AFM scans (using the Dimension3100 in SNF) of the step edge masked by kapton tape suggest that I only deposited 18 nm. Has anyone found that their measured Au film thicknesses were different from what the crystal monitor said (by a factor of 2)? Also, has anyone checked the Z-calibration on the AFM? I have been using the recipes already set up in the crystal monitor controller. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide. sincerely, Alex Alex R. Guichard Ph.D Candidate Dept. of Mat. This is less a problem for Dektak scans which are 500 or 1000 um long but will show up for AFM short scans. Using ~ 1 um photo resist lift-off should be better than the thick tape. I use sheet resitance (4-pt probe) to track metal thicknesses. The crystal monitor seems pretty good. jimkruger --- Alex Guichard wrote: > Dear Innotec users: > I recently deposited a layer of Au (on top of a thin > layer of Ti for > adhesion) onto quartz in the innotec.
