Employment
FAA Boston ARTCC
35 Northeastern Blvd.
Oct 2002-Present
Nashua, NH 03062
Maintain communications equipment used by the FAA
in controlling air traffic, including microwave communications links,
modems, ground to air radios, voice communications switches, weather
monitoring and reporting equipment, channel switchers, routers, bridges
and bandwidth management equipment. Diagnosis and repair of issues
brought by air traffic controllers, National Airspace Systems Manager
and network operation control centers relating to transfer of voice
and radar data between controllers, pilots, and remote sites.
A significant accomplishment was acting as a facility focal point in
the installation and evaluation of a GPS based navigation system used
to implement free flight of commercial aviation at high altitudes, resulting
in reduced cost to airlines and enhanced efficiency of air traffic controllers.
Ion Texas

July 2001-Oct 2002
Gilford, NH 03249
Worked with engineering and technical personnel at
semiconductor plants, solar power equipment manufacturers and government
laboratories nationwide. One of the more successful contracts
was an assignment at the Los Alamos National Lab, where I was able to
contribute significantly to the improvement of beam currents from the
H+ ion source of the Los Alamos Neutron Science Center (LANSCE) particle
accelerator. I was able to identify and locate the source of a
virtual leak which was causing shortened source life and low beam currents.
Orion Equipment, Inc.

Feb 1996-July 2001
Beverly, MA 01915
As a member of a small research and development group,
my primary function was to design, procure, build, operate and maintain
an ion source test stand for development of advanced sources used in
a new generation of ion implanters. In this position I utilized my knowledge
of electronics, mechanical, vacuum and control systems to design and
build equipment used by company scientists and engineers to develop
new products and processes. Some of my accomplishments were assisting
in debugging and setup of PID control loops on the linear motors used
to operate the scanning mechanism in the end station of the implanter,
and experiments with varied materials and geometries to increase source
life and ion beam output of DC and microwave sources being developed.
Cypress Semiconductor, Inc.

Sr. Equipment Technician in a semiconductor fabrication
plant, doing maintenance, repair, and modification of complex capital
equipment. This included Axcelis GSD, 8200 and 6200 ion implanters,
AMAT 5500 Endura PVD, Novellus chemical vapor deposition, rapid thermal
processors, scanning electron microscopes, and diffusion furnaces. Other
responsibilities included training of junior and intermediate level
technicians, acting as shift supervisor/group leader for 4-6 technicians.
Used as a resource by engineering and production staff in diagnosing
and resolving difficult and escalated process and equipment issues.
Perkin-Elmer SED

Field Service Engineer for a manufacturer of deposition
and etching equipment used in the semiconductor industry. Installed,
serviced, and modified tools in semiconductor plants, universities,
and research labs. Worked closely with engineering, sales, and marketing
staff within the company as well as customer personnel. Conducted operation
and maintenance training for customers in classroom and job settings.
Managed accounts in a wide geographic area of the U.S., worked as needed
to assist or fill in for other field service engineers throughout the
U.S. and world.
