electroless plating

Does it have to be Nickel?  I looked into electroless plating last year and
it was a bit of a pain.  If you don't get other refs, I can pass along what
I found.  If you do, I'd like to hear about it!

       Does anyone have experience on electroless plating of nickel or other
metal on Al?  Is there a bath set up somewhere for similar purposes?
