The TC junction seems like it has been dislodged from its insulating ceramic bead.  When I lightly pulled or pushed the tc wire (from within the RF junction box), I can vary the resistance between the electrode and the tc wire from a few ohms to 10's of meg ohms.
Need to disassemble the electrode and secure the tc
