From mgobet at stanford.edu Tue Aug 1 16:29:00 2006 From: mgobet at stanford.edu (Mathilde Gobet) Date: Tue, 1 Aug 2006 16:29:00 -0700 Subject: Concern about GaAs wet bench Message-ID: <1154474940.44cfe3bc5b356@webmail.stanford.edu> Hello, I am contacting you regarding the use of the GaAs wet bench by two different users. I had a very bad experience a while ago while using one half of the wet bench. The person using the other half was using HF, and while cleaning his beaker accidentally had some HF "flying in the air". Hopefully it didn't come on me, but I got really scared. Since that, I am extremely nervous to use the GaAs wet bench since I am very concerned about my safety. I thus have 2 questions/suggestions: 1. Would it be possible to restrict the GaAs wet bench use to only one user at a time? Having two users messing with different acids on the same bench is VERY DANGEROUS. 2. If not, is there a way that I could enable both part of the bench to ensure nobody uses it, but without being charged twice to use the same tool? Thank you very much to take care of this concern. I am very worried about lab member safety around this tool and I believe we should not wait that somebody gets hurt to do something about it. Then, with his knife Shoz-Dijiji will cut the vile heart of Juhout of his breast. Thesoldiers will not stop this time at the border. I reckon you must hev had a touch of fever right then, saidBillings, skeptically. Juh taunted and insulted his adversary, after the codeApachean. He flushed, for he had not realized how apparent were hisyouth and the newness of his uniform. What if it had beenperpetrated during the darkness of night? The Indian helped him to walk to his pony and lifted himinto the saddle. Speak thetruth, Juh, for you are about to die. Just for aninstant the two faced one another. He surgedsuddenly to the right, almost hurling them both to theground. Acts most like hed seed a silver tip,or a ghost. My Shoz-Dijiji, shewhispered, and then: Hold me close! Perhaps they had, momentarily; but it was Shoz-Dijijiwho remembered first. Lieutenant King found himself crawling along on his bellyfrom rock to rock. My aspect of theuniverse is unobstructed. All this while we have had toargue from your perceptions of time, space and motion toward the true. Definitions of half a dozen terms would leaveus, and the evening, exhausted. But itsstricter connotation is mathematical. At the moment we thought that a flippancy, nor did we change our opinionwhen, later, she repeated. Certainly her silence did nothing to help him out. I do stimulate yours, and I deliberately use acomplementary frequency on this side to meet it. And the record reads, Note the new terminology I am using. The United States, forexample, is one nation, manifested, however, in forty-eight states. To this assertion of Darbys, Betty apparently had noresponse. Of course, there is here a profound and sort of consecratedeagerness to receive. That is why wehad to manufacture the word orthos. In anyevent, he does so by doing his job, undergoing experience, andassimilating that experience. If you people canenter our minds at will, pretty soon Im going to be afraid to think. You remember last week I told you The Greeks have a word for it, sheinsisted. Consciousness, in degrees, is the one and only reality. That came laterfor us, and will for the reader come later in this book. And the record reads, Note the new terminology I am using. That is HER approach totime, space and motion. DARBY: just what is meant by your Greek word, orthos? And the record reads, Note the new terminology I am using. With this truth your world already is familiar. And that, staunchly maintained Betty, was that. However, Betty will tell us more about that. This is a comfortable thought because here on the quantitative plane weare so used to form. In fact, there are degrees within degrees. Better call the ETERNALverities of consciousness trilogia instead of trilogy, she ruled. THE SAME LAW WORKS IN BOTH ASPECTS OF THE UNIVERSE. Why cant we use the word orthic insteadof absolute? Each of these essences will be explained separatelyin a chapter all its own. However, Betty will tell us more about that. You bump upagainst thought, peoples ideas; every day they are hindering, limiting, obstructing you. These lower degrees are then UNABLE, by their nature, to invadeprivacy? To this assertion of Darbys, Betty apparently had noresponse. My words are heavy: I have to weigh them, said she. You remember how we gave you the wordorthos because in the original Greek it means TRUE. That did all right for the first rough exposition. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Only from either side of the altar, or from behind it, white-drapedfigures seemed to flit forward. The women are coming out of that big house. And if this was sowith these, the forest was even worse, as I have now to tell. Before wehad gone ten paces I crashed into another tree-trunk and hurtmyself considerably. It may be asked how Kumpana could see his way. Here in the shadow of the lasttrees our guide departed, or seemed to depart. Why, if they dont like him, was heever brought away from the place where he was living? None, Baas, if the fight were with spears. I dont want to know if she was White-Mouse, or Black-Mouse, orPiebald-Mouse, or no Mouse at all. The reason isthat I saw little of the man. Yes, Lord, Kumpana answered, and I think something more. Further, you dont knowwhat these are or where they will lead you. I am going to pray to your reverend father,Baas, hoping that he will hear me in the Place of Fires. She saw it and swiftly stretched out her arm, murmuring so low thatonly he and I could hear. None, Baas, if the fight were with spears. Remember also that dangersare many, and it may be that never wilt thou hold me to thy heart. Wilt thou serve my people and accept lordship over them, OWanderer? I saw a sarcastic smile upon Kumpanas wrinkled old face as heanswered. See, they throw flowers on to the water where thebody sank. Therefore let usforgive each other and say no more. Within five minutes we found ourselves in a pit of blackness. Then in a twinkling her aspect changed, orso I fancied. No, Quatermain, I dont know, and she did warn me. Now I bethought me that as usual there was wisdom in Hans cynicalremarks and metaphors. The lordship I have bought already, and I will serve them as bestI may, he answered. I must win that woman, even if it costs memy life; if I do not I shall go mad. Also in its blinding flash Ithought I saw queer figures round us with fantastic faces. He must have said those words time after time tothe little lady. Hannele was attracted to him by his talk. As it was, poor thing, she was always arrangingherself and fluttering and chattering inside a cage. I suppose reaching over that broadwindow-ledge, her brain must suddenly have turned. So the winter passed, without his going back to Germany. I knew he could have it inthree months time. She talked to me after tea that day, and it seems shebelieves that Mitchka is your lover. Why, of course, she said, knowing she was expected to saysomething. It was a question he kept nicely putting to himself. It must have been terrible for you too, she said. What other life could she have, except herbibelots and her furniture, and her talk? So he wrote toMitchka and still got no answer. You know ImIrish myself, and we Irish cant help it. Nay,thought Hannele, that scene was really true. No, she was NOT going to send her the doll. But I DID say I thought her alovely creature. The tone in which she said it conveyed a dire threat. But at the feet of that other little woman! The very next day the captain came back to his attic. And if it did exist, it was worth having. He must have said those words time after time tothe little lady. But also, the queer figure that satalone on the roof watching the stars! He had gone on his kneesonce, vowing with faltering tones to try and make the adored onehappy. And if it did exist, it was worth having. Probably he would never speak with her in private again. Who wouldnt be tempted: at the age offorty? Of course, resumed Mrs Hepburn, that was enough. I dont say she would have been wonderful. But at length she answered reluctantly:Five hundred marks. The maid was in just a minute before, and sheseemed as happy as possible. Had she been dreaming, to be in love with him? It must have been terrible for you too, she said. So he wrote toMitchka and still got no answer. Please let me have the doll by tomorrow, and perhaps some hint asto your future intentions. She found him sitting quite still, not even smoking, in his quietattic. Wilfrid must never know that she had tried to mediate. She could see him alone just as wellas, perhaps better. She seemed strangelydivided from her family. He raised a hand to hishat, checked the pony, wheeled it and cantered back. Wilfrid was not in, so he asked Stacks permission to wait. She found Dinny sitting by an oldsundial in front of a bed of delphiniums. Drive on a little, then turn and go back to Town. No name, miss; but he wants to speak to you special. She saw Muskham catch sight of her, then Wilfrid; saw them turnaway; and all was over. The simplest thing, said Fleur, is for him to resign at once. All,now, was positive, away to the round, high-lying clumps of beeches. She noticed a hatin the hall, and heard voices, as she was passing her unclesstudy. It seemed to her at thatmoment that she knew very little. Were gettin near Royston, governor; where dyou want to go? The point is simply: Is he fit to be a member here or not? He watched Wilfrid take up the letters and turn his back to openthem. And from the stumpof his cigarette he lighted another. He had not to stage the scene, nor open the brawl. The flush on her cheeks had dwindled to twored spots. He had cometo discover, if he could, whether Wilfrid really was in love withher. For a moment they stood panting, glaring at each other for anopening. She said quietly: Whatcan I do, Uncle Lawrence? No name, miss; but he wants to speak to you special. The henchman nodded, his eyes and nose seeming to Dinny unusuallylarge and intelligent. We cant help his having chosen that particular rag, said JackMuskham. He said he felt sorry for his executioner. If this, said Jack Muskham, were one of the Service Clubs, theywouldnt think twice about it. There was nolonger any reason for silence, for Stack would tell him she hadcalled. It sounds silly; but, knowingWilfrid, one can see it made all the difference. They passed, and she heard Muskham say:That I consider the limit. He watched Wilfrid take up the letters and turn his back to openthem. This was laid before Dinny at dinner-time by her uncle withoutcomment. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
