There is a large shift in the image when you adjust the stigmator. This means someone had fooled with the adjustments, or the shields I put on over Christmas are magnetized and have moved the beam away from the center of the column! I'll figure this one out and let you know as soon as I know what's up. Until then, you may try using it, but I don't think you'll get far. If you had trouble with it recently it's not you! chw3 From charley at snf.stanford.edu Wed Jan 21 14:55:22 2004 From: charley at snf.stanford.edu (Charley) Date: Wed, 21 Jan 2004 14:55:22 -0800 Subject: 4160 status, 1/21/2004 Message-ID: <400F035A.8050308@snf.stanford.edu> OK, it works fine. I wrote this up on Coral but in case you're not looking there, the 4160 is now looking great, 5KV, 250,000X. I think someone adjusted the stigmator alignment instead of the stigmator. Bad Idea. I have it corrected and have left a couple of 100,000X photos on the PCTV gallery. Up for use, call me if you have a problem with it. chw3
