However there is almost always someone skilled in EBL and SEM working in the lab and I am sure they would be happy to show off their work to the students and visitors. Message-ID: NOTICE to ALL *SEM4160* Users Just about two weeks ago we had nearly 20 10mm slotted SEM studs in the lab and now there appears to be only three available for Users. Where did the other fixtures travel off to?!!! The SEM studs that are provided to you to mount cross section samples are not to be retained for personal usage, nor removed from the Ebeam Lab, without prior permission. These assemblies are custom made for this system and likely will not work on other SEM's at Stanford University. It is also considered very bad form to take any engineering materials from the SNF cleanroom to be used in other labs without prior permission. Users are requested to immediately return these fixtures to the Ebeam lab so our users with multiple samples to inspect or compare with each other can perform thier tasking. The Ebeam lab is a restricted area in the SNF cleanroom, only qualified SEM and EBL users are to enter this area; all others must have an escourt. Ebeam Lab Users have my permission to confront and report any unauthorized persons accessing or wandering about the Lab. Thank you for your support! This person took it upon himself to use a razor blade to scrape carbon dots off the holders surface severely scratching the surface of this fixture. The was a precision machined flat with a very smooth surface finish, is was coplanar polished to the base planarity of the fixture in order to maintain precise focus for users working on wafers. I cleaned the chuck of metal scrapings, filings, and carbon dot residues and inspected its surface. I then discovered that they had scribed numbers into the sample surface in the hole positions further damaging the surface planarity and flatness. If you are this User, of by chance know whom it is, please meet with me during my office hour. Happy Halloween, James Conway -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
