It sat open for about 1 hour. The firemen who came in to inspect the innotec walked right past the open tube. I debated whether to leave the tube open to avoid possibly contaminating the inside, but I think the contamination is probably slight (just residual smoke in the area, which still stinks.) Anyway, the tube is probably alright but I thought someone should look at it (or at least think about it) before opening it to general use.
