Message-ID: It took the combined efforts of three men (Dick, Jim H, Al) and maybe 80 years of equipment experience between them, but it's unstuck now. Please remember "righty tighty and lefty loosey" with the knurled nut. The system has been re-set, so will require initialization to be used. If you do not feel comfortable with this, please wait to use. After release it, the "30" at the bottom right conner of the screen does not start to count downwords, and the spindle can not be turned on. Looks OK, but noticed two things. First, I got a new blade from the stockroom which didn't fit onto the spindle. I don't know if there are other bad ones -- if so, please do not use and and get another from the stockroom (you can give me a bad one, for credit.) Second, the image on the screen is slightly tilted down to the left, but it cuts straight according to the alignment. Back over to use (still leave in problem state for button lights and chuck vacuum pin.) Ed is using it now and is not having this problem (although the video connection is a bit touchy.) I'm clearing this for now, but please note further problems -- this appears to be intermittent. (By the way, I think the system will fail tostart countdown unless all systems -- air, water, etc. -- are go -- please make sure these are on and have adequate supply before starting.) From zappe at snf.stanford.edu Tue May 18 18:27:02 2004 From: zappe at snf.stanford.edu (zappe at snf.stanford.edu) Date: Tue, 18 May 2004 18:27:02 -0700 Subject: Problem wafersaw 2004-05-18 18:27:02: No blade / Cuts are offset Message-ID: There is only one blade at the saw with the actual blade being perfectly removed from the flange (might appear like an intact blade to unexperienced users). I used my own blade and put the other one back on the spindle afterwards since the manual says 'don't leave spindle without blade'. When I hit the 'single cut' button the blade moved backwards by 1.5 mm, made the single cut and moved forward to its original position at the end of the cut. Is this programmable ? I have never experienced this before.
