From rcrane at snf.stanford.edu Fri Aug 2 11:40:07 2002 From: rcrane at snf.stanford.edu (Dick Crane) Date: Fri, 02 Aug 2002 11:40:07 -0700 Subject: Good/Bad news Message-ID: <3D4AD207.C2CF3885@snf.stanford.edu> Saw users, As you are probably aware, the saw has been misbehaving a lot recently. Its favorite trick is to assume the ccw limit switch has been reached. With the intermittent nature of the failure, it has been difficult to fix it. The good news: the failure is the limit switch not the wiring or logic. It is now a hard failure. The bad news: the saw will be down for a few days while an ex-K&S service tech is brought in to replace all limit switches, do an audit of the tool condition, and provide some maintenance training for staff. The timing is to be determined and I'll keep you posted when I know more. At least one part is bent, and the service tech is trying to locate a replacement part. We may have info on availability of this part by tomorrow. I'll keep everyone updated when we find out.
