I cleaned up the HF someone left splattered all over the bench.
This is NOT my job, this is YOUR job.

First, be careful and don't drip HF in the first place.

Second, if you do drip HF, clean it up. Leaving it sitting around
on the deck top presents a safety hazard for the next people who
use the bench.

Third, there is a large sign, in RED lettering, that says: ALWAYS 
rinse off and dry the bench after use.

So don't say "no body told me".
