I filled the empty left hot pot with H2O, and could see some reflective flakes, but looks like silicon bits.  Filled and drained hot pot with H2O 4 times, checking for visible flakes between fills. After 1 fill, no visible flakes. continued to fill and drain 3 more times. No visible silicon flakes now. Should be ok to use.
