I loaded a CD-RW, started the program, selected a data file, then pressed the easy step 2 button, runs for 2 seconds and then spits out the cd and gives an error message of "illegal request". I retried and used the red "record button instead of the easy step button, same thing happened. Spits the cd after two seconds and displays "illegal request" . Ther error log file shows the error as error 1005. I have no idea what that could be. I even tried runnning a dvd-rw, and the sfotware wouldn't even ackknowledge the disc. I would really like to be able to get my saved zygo data off of the computer. Maybe it is time to replace with something that accepts usb drives but can still run the old windows? Help? Earlier in the day it wasn't letting me enable, now it lets me enable but the log-in dialoge would not respond to any input from the keyboard. tried enabling and disabling several times and hitting many keys on the keyboard. Then i looked and realized the keyboard is now hooked up to some interlock so that is likely what's causing the problem. I restarted the computer and the startup screen said there was a keyboard malfunction. I bypassed the keyboard interlock, restarted the computer, and now the startup screen didn't see any problems with the keyboard but it prompted for a password.... which is not the same password as the login password!
