Job description: As a Device Integration engineer for CMOS Process Integration in the Advanced Memory Integration team at Micron, you will work within a team of world-class engineers and oversee developing the next generation CMOS devices employed in the most groundbreaking Memory and Computer products. You and the team will work on the most exciting and novel CMOS solutions for the future generations of DRAM and Emerging Memories necessary to meet the required array efficiency and data rate requirements as well as the product timelines.

Responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

  • Drive the device technology development of state-of-the-art CMOS providing solutions that are compatible with the memory architecture.
  • Identify device improvement directions and implement them in the advanced memory products
  • Contribute to the fundamental understanding of CMOS technology and its impact on overall product figures of merit.
  • Collaborate with Design, TCAD, and modeling groups.
  • In general, a strong collaboration is required with product, probe, reliability, process, characterization, layout, and other teams.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with 3 + years Semiconductor experience or master’s in electrical engineering or equivalent with 5 + years of Semiconductor experience
  • Semiconductor industry experience is preferred but not required.
  • A strong understanding of semiconductor devices, processes, and characterization techniques is required
  • A deep understanding and experience with high-performance logic technologies (14nm and beyond) is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with data analysis, device characterization, and process integration are essential
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Proven reporting skills are required.

As a Process Integration Engineer in the 3D DRAM and Emerging Memory Organization, you will be part of a team of world-class engineers who are working in industry leading 300mm R&D facility on technology which enables future memory scaling. You will focus on the performance and manufacturability of Micron’s cutting-edge next-generation memories. Areas of concentration will include Integration and Circuit issues specific to 3D DRAM technology. In addition to a broad basis of Process Integration knowledge, this position will require a strong background in semiconductor device physics. Role interacts significantly with simulation, modeling, characterization, and reliability groups

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Lead technology Integration activities in enabling manufacturability of state-of-the-art 3D DRAM technology, working on device components such as charge storage devices, thin-film transistors (TFTs), among others.
  • As an integral part of R&D, you will engage with numerous cross-functional teams including Process Development, Product Engineering, Design, Yield Improvement, Advanced Mask, Probe, etc. to arrive at solutions to yield and margin issues
  • Design and handle experiments in the R&D fab
  • Optimize process flows and develop creative solutions to meet product requirements
  • Extract, supervise, analyze, and react to inline data, defect data, param data and probe data to fix yield issues, performance, reliability, add process margin and reduce costs
  • Lead / participate in continuous yield improvement and cost reduction activities
  • Summarize sophisticated problems, derive, explain actions taken to address them and drive team to implement

Qualifications:

  • You have a detailed knowledge of mainstream memory technologies such as DRAM, NAND, etc. acquired through significant proven contributions.
  • Expertise in semiconductor device physics.
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor process integration and process development.
  • You understand the challenges and opportunities facing alternative memory technologies is encouraged.
  • You are very familiar with both Process Integration & Circuit/Architecture issues as they relate to memory.
  • You are proficient with data analysis, DOE, and statistical techniques.
  • Proven project management skills and experience driving cross-functional technical teams.

Education: M.S. or PhD in any engineering field or B.S. with 5+ years demonstrated ability
